Five Years Later: Looking Back At Virginia Tech’s 2019 Signing Class

The Hokies’ dismal 2018 season didn’t deter recruits in 2019 from picking Virginia Tech, which signed what was ranked as the No. 27 class in the country that cycle.

Though the number of blue-chippers dipped to four in the 2019 class after the Hokies inked 16 in the 2017 and ’18 groups combined, the bottom hadn’t quite fallen out of recruiting in the Justin Fuente era.

The top of the 2019 class is littered with what-ifs, however, either high-end misses, medical retirements or transfer departures that helped accelerate Tech’s demise in future seasons and hamstrung the early rebuilding efforts of the Brent Pry era.
