Georgia Amoore, who was named the Associated Press’s National Player of the Week on Tuesday, led the way in the JMA Wireless Dome with 29 points in 29 minutes despite playing just eight first-half minutes.
In wins over the Orange and Georgia Tech, Amoore tallied 53 points, 16 assists and five rebounds while shooting 19-of-33 (57%) overall, and 7-of-14 from three.
Her performance against ‘Cuse, along with that of Matilda Ekh (14 points), Cayla King (13), Carleigh Wenzel (6 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds) and Olivia Summiel (5 points, 12 rebounds) lifted the Hokies despite an off-night from All-American Elizabeth Kitley, who had just six and nine.
