Five Thoughts The Day After The Hokies’ Military Bowl Win Against Tulane

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — As Antwaun Powell-Ryland walked the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium field at the Military Bowl in his pre-game sweats, a couple of Tulane players started jawing at him. 

Typically soft-spoken, the Hokies defensive end couldn’t help but get riled up in response, returning some verbal sparring before security stepped between the parties. 

“They were just talking crazy,” Powell-Ryland said afterward. “I mean, I don’t really take too much disrespect. I respect people how I treat them and I’d like to be respected how I respect people. But it was nothing, really. It ended up locking me in a little bit more.”

“Our coach always says stay composed and stay poised,” cornerback Mansoor Delane said. “But inside, you obviously always want to get that last laugh.”
