Hokies Military Bowl Notes: Fuga Returning With Purpose, APR Seeks 10th Sack, Lane Gets ACC Mea Culpa

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Before he decided to come back for a sixth season in 2024, Josh Fuga wanted to know from the coaching staff if they really wanted him back.

Not as Josh Fuga the team captain, not as Josh Fuga the emotional catalyst. But as Josh Fuga the player, making an actual impact on the interior line.

“Because I know what I bring to the table on and off the field,” Fuga said Sunday after the Hokies’ Military Bowl outing to the International Spy Museum. “But I wanted it from the coaches’ perspective. … I wanted to ask them straight up: ‘Do you want me back as a football player? Do you see me impacting this team on the field, not just off the field?’ 

“Their choice really made me ultimately come back.”
