The Hokies (5-1) and Tigers (7-1) are the premier matchup of the first-ever ACC/SEC Challenge, which began on Wednesday. The ACC leads the series 5-1 after Day 1.
The two sides met in Dallas on March 31, a game Tech led for three quarters but ended up losing, 79-72. LSU went on to beat Caitlin Clark and Iowa for the national championship.
Maybe the biggest women’s college basketball news of the week broke on Wednesday when Tigers head coach Kim Mulkey announced star forward Angel Reese “will be available” against Tech. She did not provide specifics. Reese missed the last four games for undisclosed reasons.
