Virginia Tech Basketball Q&A: Orlando Opportunities, A Two-Big Lineup And More

We’re two weeks into basketball season now and both Virginia Tech teams are 3-1.

The men head down to Orlando, Fla., to participate in the ESPN Events Invitational from Thursday-Sunday at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The No. 9 women travel to the Cayman Islands to face WNIT champions Kansas and Tulane on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

I’m headed down to Orlando myself. I leave on Wednesday morning for a nine-day road trip that includes the three men’s games at Disney, the men’s game at Auburn next Wednesday and the women’s game at LSU in Baton Rouge next Thursday.

We’ll have a ton of hoops coverage over the next two weeks while I’m on the road, including a handful of Three Takeaways stories. I’ll have a preview of the Orlando tournament on Wednesday and the Cayman Islands Classic on Thursday.
