The hour and a half jaunt to Blacksburg has become common for Patrick Henry (Glade Spring, VA) three-star offensive lineman Tyler Barrett. Over the past few months, he took a pair of gameday visits to Virginia Tech, which followed multiple visits this summer.

While that trip has become common, Barrett is also trying to get as many other visits in as possible. Rivals.com’s No. 14 player for Virginia in the 2025 class, he currently claims just two scholarship offers, from the Hokies and Norfolk State. But Barrett is still early in his recruitment and is piecing together current and potential options.

“I feel like I’m definitely making progress for sure,” he said. “The more I talk to coaches, the more you go places, you definitely see where the love is, who thinks you can add to their program. It’s definitely progress.”
