Solid Boston College Ground Game, Shifty QB Castellanos A Challenge For Hokies

A flop in a big game like last weekend’s 34-3 loss at No. 13 Louisville left the Hokies disappointed, but they weren’t in a place where they tried to avoid reviewing what went wrong.

“That one hurt. I’m going to be honest,” Virginia Tech head coach Brent Pry said on Tuesday. “All losses hurt. But I think our guys, you could just sense it.

“We didn’t give our best effort. We’ve played better. … When you play a good team and don’t play your best, it’s not a good formula. But we have to make the corrections. We have to identify where we weren’t good enough and we have to live in that space and own it, make the corrections.”

There’s no time to sulk for the Hokies (4-5, 3-2 ACC), who travel for a noon game Saturday at surging Boston College (6-3, 3-2), which has won five straight to earn bowl eligibility.
