Chris Marve’s only been a defensive play-caller for eight games, taking over the duties from Brent Pry in Virginia Tech’s regular-season finale last year against Liberty and handling it all of this season.
The 34-year-old doesn’t hesitate, though, when asked if anything has surprised him in his first year in the role.
“Not at all,” he said matter-of-factly on Monday. “No, sir.”
