This fall, Alcoa (Tenn.) tight end Eli Owens has been a bit selective with his gameday visit schedule.

Thus far, he’s taken three trips to Virginia Tech, Cincinnati and nearby Tennessee. The games and the fanfare have been nice. He said he’s enjoyed the camaraderie and the pageantry with gamedays, but has looked to process more. Though he’s not at a point where he knows where he’s going, he plans to narrow his focus quite soon.

Owens made his first gameday trip to Virginia Tech Sept. 2 for its season-opener against Old Dominion, and the Hokies have caught his attention for a few reasons.
