Dynamic Drones, Persistent Ground Game Highlight Hokies’ Offensive Surge In Pitt Win

In nearly two years as the Hokies’ head coach, Brent Pry has periodically attempted to describe the offensive identity he’d like to have at Virginia Tech.

If he’s ever stuck at articulating it again, he can just point to Saturday night’s 38-21 beating of Pitt at Lane Stadium, as badly-needed of a win as there’s been in some time in Blacksburg.

The Hokies (2-3, 1-0 ACC) raced past the Panthers with a balanced attack that featured a dynamic quarterback performance from Kyron Drones, a persistent ground game and big plays in timely moments through the air.

Tech ended a three-game losing streak with the victory, doing so when the prospect of a 1-5 record seemed all too real with a trip to Tallahassee on tap next week to face a top-five Florida State team.
