
After describing this weekend’s game against Pitt as a “trenches game,” Hokies head coach Brent Pry was asked if any other contest Virginia Tech has played this year would qualify under that mantle.
Rutgers was to a degree. Purdue was physical with its defensive front. But the Panthers, with their physicality on both sides of the ball, definitely fit the bill.
“This is the most physical group [we’ve played],” Pry said after Wednesday’s practice.
That makes Saturday’s game an enormous task for the Hokies (1-3), who haven’t necessarily distinguished themselves with their play up front on either side of the ball this season.
