The recruiting process can be fruitful, with plenty of perks and attention. But it can also be quite strenuous and at times an annoyance.

South Pittsburg (Tenn.) 2025 three-star wide receiver AJ Wallace said he’s enjoyed parts of his recruitment, but ultimately, it’s been exhausting, stressful and just too much at times. With gameday visits coming, Wallace said he feels like he’s nearing a decision, though he’s not exactly sure when that will come.

“I’ve actually been thinking about it a lot the past two weeks,” he said. “For me, personally, I know a lot of other people can differ, but I’ve hated the recruiting process. It’s just so many loopholes and you don’t know what’s true and not true, if you have a real relationship with a coach or if he’s talking to get you on campus. I think I’m in the final stretch of finding a college that fits me. I’m either most likely committing after the season or even during the season.”
