Virginia Tech usually recruits well when I take my annual spring sabbatical across the pond. Last year, the Hokies picked up three verbals from high school players when I was away, including my No. 1 player for the class, Dante Lovett, while Mike Young landed transfer center Mylyjael Poteat on the hoops front.
This time around, the Hokies picked up a verbal from Florida transfer Antwaun Powell-Ryland on May 4, the very day that I landed in London, and it seemed like more of the same this year.
“Things sure haven’t changed.”
