Yes, the commitment was just announced last Thursday. But in the back of his mind, Mount Airy (NC) three-star defensive end Deric Dandy said he knew his decision long before that.

Dandy said he’s visited Virginia Tech at least eight times for various reasons. By the second time, last summer, he was sold.

Dandy’s pledge to the Hokies was their second of three in consecutive days. It began with a commitment from Rivals250 four-star quarterback David Belfort and ended with Flint Hill (Va.) three-star cornerback Joshua Clarke. For Dandy, his choice came down to a few factors, including trust and feel.
