I planned to write an article on Virginia Tech basketball last Thursday, and in fact I already had it all planned out in my head. There were a few major points I was going to touch on after the Hokies took care of business up in Chestnut Hill…

1) 12-1 overall. That sounded great!

2) 2-0 in the ACC, with a win over UNC and road win against Boston College. That’s a Q1 win, and a road win, which is a great start to league play!

3) The Hokies would have won 25 out of their last 29 games with that victory, which is crazy to think about. The only losses were to College of Charleston on the road, Texas in the NCAA Tournament, Clemson on the road and UNC in Cassell. 25-4 in 10 months. I wonder how many other programs can say that? That’s No. 1/2 seed territory if you extrapolate it over a full season.
