The hope is that the most recent scholarship offer Stebbins (OH) 2024 offensive guard Jake Wheelock received is a breakthrough. At least, that’s what he hopes.

On Oct. 20, Wheelock received his first scholarship from a Power Five school, Virginia Tech. The Hokies joined Akron, Toledo and Kent State thus far. Wheelock hopes others will follow suit, but he’s also thankful Virginia Tech made the decision, and he’s looked more into what the Hokies can offer on and off the field.

“I still feel like I’m under the radar,” Wheelock said. “Despite the Power Five offer, I’m still trying to get traction. I have looks from Ohio State, some more schools like Northwestern, Duke. But I still would consider myself under the radar. I don’t know exactly why, but I’m still trying to get past recruiting and into offers.”
