Virginia Tech Wide Receivers: Lots Of New Faces

Last season’s top two wide receivers, Tre Turner and Tayvion Robinson, have departed Virginia Tech. A new crop of wideouts will take over, a group includes a couple of transfers and a few other names that you’re already familiar with. Overall, it’s a position that lacks experience playing football at Tech, but it will also be supplemented by players who are technically at other positions who are expected to lineup in a variety of ways.

Dallan Wright (6-1, 176, r-So.) is out for the season with an injury, which hurts a little. Jadan Blue has missed some practice time due to a slight injury, but he hasn’t been in a walking boot, and head coach Brent Pry said last Wednesday that he’s expected to be back “sooner than later.”

With a new coordinator, new position coach and a variety players, this is a group of guys who get a fresh start in my eyes. Let’s move on to some of the main questions about the wide receivers heading into 2022.

Exactly How Much Depth Does Virginia Tech Have?

Well, the answer to that question depends on your definition of depth. In terms of the players who play wide receiver full-time, yeah, there’s not much experience.
