Virginia Tech Targeting Transfer Portal Quarterbacks

I’m not going to do a Virginia Tech Transfer Portal rundown on every single position. New players are entering the portal every single day, and one article can be made completely invalid within 24 hours or less.

For example, I could have written a wide receiver article on Sunday, only to find out on Monday morning that Baylor’s RJ Sneed has now entered the portal. Sneed is a Second Team All-Big 12 receiver at a successful football program, and he’s from Texas, so why he’d want to leave is beyond me, but I’d certainly be kicking the tires there if I were Virginia Tech.

Pitt linebacker and team captain Cam Bright entered the transfer portal on Monday morning. I have no idea why, because he plays for a winning team and he’s well-coached, but I’d be interested. Likewise, Wake Forest running back Christian Beal-Smith is in the portal, and he’s also a guy I’d be interested in, especially considering what happened with the last Wake running back to hit the portal. But hey, at least those guys played in their bowl games, right?

I do want to focus in on the quarterback position today, however.  It’s the most important position on the field, and there is news that a particular player from another school in this region has become available. We’ll talk about him, plus another quarterback option with regional ties.
