Tech lost Frazier to Illinois, so let’s compare the media rights/licensing money brought in by Big Ten programs in 2018-19 to Virginia Tech, per the USA Today College Sports Finances Database:
Ohio State: $93.9 million (that’s nearly the size of VT’s entire athletic budget)
Nebraska: $89.6 million
Wisconsin: $89.3 million
Michigan: $88.2 million
Penn State: $77 million
Michigan State: $75.9 million
Minnesota: $74.8 million
Indiana: $73.8 million
Iowa: $71 million
Purdue: $67.5 million
Illinois: $67.5 million
*Maryland: $53.7 million
Virginia Tech: $39.5 million
**Rutgers: $37.8 million
