Chris Coleman: If you’re asking which has a greater chance of happening, I’d say the chances are greater that the Hokies have a top 25 defense than a top 25 offense.

When I look at Virginia Tech on the offensive side of the ball, I think the offensive line will be good despite the losses of Christian Darrisaw and Doug Nester, and obviously the Hokies have a very good group of tight ends, as they usually do under Justin Fuente and James Shibest.  I also think Braxton Burmeister will do just fine at quarterback based on what I saw on Thursday (granted, that’s a limited sample size).

But to have a good offense, you have to have some playmakers.  I think Tech has two solid receivers in Tre Turner and Tayvion Robinson, but I don’t think either one of them are on the Isaiah Ford/Cam Phillips level.  And as much as I’d like it to happen, I don’t see a Khalil Herbert among this group of running backs.
