For nearly five months, Cedar Grove (Ga.) three-star cornerback Tee Denson was committed to Pittsburgh. That changed on Nov. 7 when he announced he’d be reopening his recruitment.
Denson maintains that he’s open to any schools that come into the picture. For now, he concedes that his focus is on three: Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Kansas State. He has a pair of official visits upcoming that could also dictate where he’s headed for his collegiate career.
“I’m currently open to everyone, but I am focusing on certain schools right now,” Denson said. “Mainly, I’m looking at depth on the roster, building a relationship with the coaching staff, making sure I’m a priority and all that good stuff.”
Denson, Rivals.com’s No. 135-ranked player in Georgia for 2020, will enroll at his school of choice in January. That’s put the pressure on him to make a decision rather quickly.
First up on his official visit list is Virginia Tech this weekend. Denson said he hopes to gain more clarity about the future of the defense. He said defensive coordinator Bud Foster’s imminent retirement won’t factor in too high, but Denson does want to get a sense for where the defense is headed.
