Since the start of the 2019 college football season, there haven’t been too many off weekends for Leesville Road (NC) 2021 three-star offensive tackle Andrew Canelas. The 6’8” and 297-pound lineman has six offers, and he’s tried to get to know each of them, as well as other schools that have shown interest.           

Canelas,’s No. 49 offensive tackle in the 2021 class, claims offers from Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Duke, Virginia, East Carolina and NC State. In getting acquainted with each, Canelas has created a mental checklist of what he hopes to find in his collegiate home.           

“I’m always looking at school because that’s where I’m going at the end of the deal,” he said. “I’m always looking at coaches, winning cultures. I want to see what they’re trying to do in the future. I don’t want to go to a team that’s not trying to win. That’s the main priority,
