Quarterback, Class of 2021
Archbishop Spalding, Severn, MD
By the end of May, Archbishop Spalding (Md.) 2021 three-star quarterback Austin Tutas picked up his third offer in a month’s time when an offer from UMASS joined Virginia Tech and Temple.
Since then, it’s been a bit quiet for Tutas. He made his first college visit of the season this past weekend, but he hasn’t necessarily tabled his recruitment. He’s still kept a few aspects in mind that he’s saving for when he’s ready to push his recruiting pace a bit. Tutas has also kept an open line of communication, as three new schools have entered the picture.
“I’ve kind of been focused on the season and helping my team win games,” Tutas said. “I’ve put recruiting on the backburner, but those three have reached out after the Sept. 1 deadline. Honestly, it’s been very brief contact. I haven’t put much thought into it. When August rolled around, I shifted my focus from that to being the best I can be, preparing us and helping us win games.”
To this point, Tutas has not taken any visits this fall, but that’s partly a result of his high school scheduling.
