It was one of those shooting touches that any basketball player dreams of. At the Adidas Summer Nationals, three-star combo guard Kerwin Walton couldn’t miss. He hit 10-of-13 shots from three-point range on Saturday.
The shooting barrage caught plenty of attention from the throng of college coaches sitting courtside. Since Walton’s outburst, he’s added offers from Virginia Tech, Kansas, Arizona, Iowa State, Iowa, Cincinnati, Vanderbilt and Miami. They join a list that already consisted of Minnesota, Purdue, Nebraska, Denver, and Drake. It’s safe to say that Walton’s ranking, as the No. 42 player at his position for 2020, should also be due for a change.
“I mean, really, I just felt hot so I just kept shooting. If I had enough space, I was going to shoot regardless,” Walton said of his breakout performance. “If someone’s hands were down, I shot it. Every time I tried it, it felt good. I felt really comfortable, so that definitely helped.”...
