This spring, Archbishop Spalding (MD) 2021 quarterback Austin Tutas didn’t take any college visits. It wasn’t time for that yet.
Instead, Tutas set about getting himself to where he felt like he was in a comfortable position on and off the field with his team. Now, however, the time has come for him to get more into his recruitment, especially as more offers come in.
Virginia Tech offered Tutas Thursday, joining Temple. Boston College, Wake Forest and Syracuse have also been in steady contact. With an upcoming visit set and more on the way, Tutas has turned to getting a better feel for his early recruitment and where might be the best fit.
“Honestly, it’s really early,” he said. “I’ve just been focusing on my high school career. Things I’ve started to look for is somewhere I can thrive academically and prepare for the next phase of my life. Somewhere the coaches genuinely care about me and are working to develop me.”
Tutas is slated to make his first visit, unofficially, June 2 to Virginia Tech. On that trip, he said he hopes to see more of the school...
