Anthony Harris

6-3, 180
PG/SG
John Paul VI, Fairfax, VA

Anthony Harris is a nice sized point guard at 6-3 with a cut body. I see him as strictly a point guard. Others in my field see him as a combo guard, some others see him as a point. There are still others that see him as 2-guard. I know Corey Evans views him as a two.

I like the pull up midrange game of Harris. He abruptly stops, plants and elevates to get that shot off. It looks like his most accomplished offensive tool. He does it well and looks both comfortable and confident doing so. He competes and is alert defensively, is active with his hands, and gets a number of deflections. He is in the right place a majority of the time defensively, and has excellent defensive anticipation. He occasionally relaxed as a defender off the ball, but he is solid in that regard as well, more so than the majority of his fellow prospects at this same stage. Harris is overall just a very solid defensive guard.

As a passer, he is solid and willing. The ball doesn’t stick when it gets to Harris. He doesn’t dominate it or over dribble or pound that thing over and over and over until you want to drink, like too many of the current day point prospects. He has good vision in transition, and will both find creases to make passes as well as pitch it ahead to the wing. The pitching ahead is notable and another shrinking trait in modern day basketball at this level.
