Sure, there was a top seven, but after a visit Osceola (Fla.) three-star defensive tackle Mario Kendricks made last month, he knew where he wanted to go. He just wanted to wait until Saturday to announce to everyone else.           

Kendricks visited Virginia Tech for the first and only time the weekend of June 9 for one of the Hokies’ recruiting camps. The visit gave him plenty to take in. It also made him certain of his decision to commit to Virginia Tech.           

“I’m not going to lie to you, I knew when I was up there,” Kendricks said. “The way I felt about it, it just felt right. I guess the feel, and I know what my job is. I know I’m coming in and helping out with the other defensive tackles. I want to play my freshman year.”
