Zohn Burden’s Burden

Zohn Burden was hired by Frank Beamer in hopes that he could help reshape in-state recruiting, particularly in the 757.  Former Virginia Tech ace recruiter Jim Cavanaugh personally recommended Burden to Beamer.  Burden was on Beamer’s staff for the 2015 season, and was then retained by head coach Justin Fuente.

In-state recruiting isn’t what it once was, as we’ve detailed in many articles.  However, Burden has done a very good job in the areas he’s been assigned, and in fact he’s probably carrying a heavier burden (pardon the pun) than any in-state recruiter in Virginia Tech history.
