There are only four offers on the table at the moment for Westlake (Ga.) 2020 athlete Chase Lloyd. His most recent, though, is his biggest yet, as the first power five school.
On May 23, Virginia Tech became Lloyd’s fourth offer, joining East Carolina, Tulane and Florida Atlantic. It’s still plenty early in Lloyd’s recruitment, as he awaits what offers will come next. But he’s also getting a feel for those he does have, to piece together where his future home will be.
“I just want good relationships with coaches, who want me most,” Lloyd said. “Then, it’s what program I feel like I fit the best in. Location is big for me because I want my family to come to a few of my games at least.”
Lloyd has yet to visit Blacksburg, but as have plenty of recruits before him, he said a former Hokie made him aware of what Virginia Tech could offer.
“I really like the way Virginia Tech runs things,” Lloyd said. “After talking with Coach (Zohn) Burden, I felt like we had great conversation. I’ve been following Virginia Tech for a while...
