Harris Hopeful After Virginia Tech Visit

There are already offers on the table for Woodbridge (Va.) 2019 two-star cornerback Taylor Harris. Virginia, Temple, Cincinnati, East Carolina, Old Dominion and Charlotte have each offered. But Harris is still open to any others who come in the picture.

Harris (5-9, 180) has taken a few visits thus far and has a few coming that could shed more light on what schools stand out the most to him. Those trips could also add to his offer total, as he continues his search for his next destination.

“My main interest is if they have a good engineering program,” Harris said. “I want to be a mechanical engineer. If they have what I want and need to pursue my career, that’s a bigger bonus. I just love working on cars, being in the vehicle engineering field.”

Last weekend, Harris visited Old Dominion. He’s become well-acquainted with the Monarchs, in part because of a long relationship with the staff there. But Harris said he also has some familiar faces at the school.

“ODU is great and it’s a modern campus,” he said. “I like the staff. They always come in and greet me and chat with me. I feel…not at home, but them acknowledging me makes me feel like a top recruit. Just feeling like they’re welcoming, I like that. I know a lot of students who go there. I’ll visit my friends and them being on the beach, it’s a wonderful setting.
