Last year, five-star running back Khalan Laborn signed his letter of intent with Florida State. His younger brother, 2020 running back Khamran Laborn, was on hand for the celebration. Khamran saw Khalan’s recruitment play out, from an accumulation of offers, the constant attention Khalan received, to his commitment at Nike’s The Opening Finals with the help of a Lamborghini.
Khamran took notes from his older brother, and holds what Khalan says in high regard. But now, Khamran’s own recruitment is beginning to take shape.
Khamran has one early offer, from Virginia Tech, while others like Maryland, Notre Dame and LSU have all been in touch. He also continues to hear comparisons to his older brother, which might not be a bad thing, even as Khamran continues to make a name for himself.
“I definitely learned to stay humble and hungry from Khalan,” he said. “If you’re going to that school just for one coach and you really don’t talk to the other coaches, or can feel something in the atmosphere, don’t go for that one coach. Because he might leave.”
