As important as the prestige of a football program is in a college recruitment, Class of 2019 defensive end Howard Cross insists it’s much more than that.


Cross, No. 210 in the 2019 Rivals250, has 10 offers. Virginia Tech offered the lineman from St. Joseph’s in Montvale, N.J. in early October. Cross’ recruitment is one in its infancy. The 6-foot-2, 240-pound recruit made no visits this fall, though he does have one planned that could open things up.
