Devon Hunter’s commitment gave the Hokies a big boost.

Since January 1, recruiting has gone about as well as it can go for Virginia Tech. The Hokies have received commitments from a trio of 4-star prospects since that date, including two of the top prospects in the state of Virginia. That includes big victories over Penn State for Dylan Rivers and Nathan Proctor, and the much-publicized commitment of Devon Hunter, TSL’s #1 player in the state of Virginia.

To recap, here are the three 4-star players who have committed since January 1…

S Devon Hunter: 247Composite #45 player, picked Tech over Florida, Alabama, UNC, Auburn, Ole Miss, and many others.

DE Nathan Proctor: 247Composite #182 player, picked Tech over Penn State, Ole Miss, Pitt, Florida, Georgia and many others.

LB Dylan Rivers: 247 Composite #253 player, picked Tech over Penn State, Clemson, LSU, UNC and others. The craziest thing about Rivers’ recruitment is that he actually decommitted from Penn State this weekend while on his visit to Happy Valley, and then committed to Virginia Tech within a matter of hours. What kind of bizarro world are we living in?
