Jalen Holston has risen to the top of Virginia Tech’s recruiting list at running back.

Holston, a 3-star recruit from Stockbridge, Ga., has listed the Hokies as his favorite school, with South Carolina and North Carolina also in the mix.

Holston has already visited Virginia Tech and loves the vibe around the program.

”It’s a different atmosphere,” Holston said. “A lot of people say stuff like this, but it was just great while I was down there. It’s something special that I can be a part of.”

Running backs coach Zohn Burden has been Holston’s primary recruiter, and Holston says that Burden is different when compared to other coaches recruiting him.

“He really means what he says,” Holston said. “Me and him have been keeping in contact since November of last year. He told me all this stuff and a lot of college coaches say the same thing, but a lot of them don’t keep their word. He keeps his word with everything. Everything he says is true.”

Holston says he is also excited about new Head Coach Justin Fuente and says he talks to him regularly.
