With the preseason in the rearview mirror, it’s time for an updated Top Prospects List.

In case you’ve forgotten, a player is eligible to make the Top Prospects lists if he is a true freshman or a r-freshman, or if he’s a true sophomore with fewer than 100 snaps on offense or defense (special teams doesn’t count).

Before we get started with our Top Prospects article, I’d like to revisit the Top 10 list I did last fall (Aug, 2014) to see how things worked out with my predictions.  If you read this article last spring, you’ll know that I wasn’t exactly prescient when it came to predicting our Top Prospects.  I’m hoping I did better last fall.

My 6-10 were, in order, Ricky Walker, CJ Reavis, Holland Fisher, Chuck Clark and Wyatt Teller.  I’m actually pretty comfortable with that list, if not the order.  If I had it to go back and do over again, I’d probably move Teller up into the 5 spot, based purely on his talent and upside.  That said; he’s one of those guys that you LOVE when its game time but who can’t seem to stay out of the coach’s dog house.  He might be one of those players who just doesn’t give the practice effort that coaches like to see given his talent level.  That said, you can’t argue with his results
