Offensive Recruiting Update: WR Setting Up Well, OL a Concern

Virginia Tech is poised to sign a strong offensive class at a couple of positions. Unfortunately, offensive line recruiting might be hitting a snag again.

Quarterback

Commits: Joshua Jackson
Targets: Jacob Park, Tylin Oden

Scot Loeffler did a very impressive job of getting a commitment from Joshua Jackson despite signing Dwayne Lawson in the 2015 class. Loeffler never stops recruiting though, and he has a couple of other targets on his board, neither of which have offers yet.

Tylin Oden was committed to Louisville up until Jawon Pass picked the Cardinals last week. Kentucky, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Vanderbilt are among his other offers. He is planning to visit Virginia Tech for camp this Saturday, where he will work out for Loeffler in hopes of getting an offer. I don’t know whether that offer will come, but Tech’s QB coach is certainly exploring the possibility.

Jacob Park picked Georgia over Virginia Tech and others during the summer of 2014, but he has decided to transfer from Georgia and go the JUCO route. Virginia Tech will monitor him this coming season, and whether or not they offer him
