1) I’d be interested in understanding the difference between the flanker and the split end, what they do and what skills make a player better suited for each position, etc. – Millersville

Chris Coleman: Good question. Some receivers are purely split ends, some are purely flankers, and some are versatile enough to be both. In recent years, the traditional roles of the split end and the flanker have been blurred as teams put multiple receivers on the field at the same time.
