Chris Coleman: Wow. This is going to be a tough one for a couple of reasons. Back then, the Hokies used wide side (stud) and short side (end) defensive ends, and they’ve gotten away from that in recent years. So do I compare Chris Ellis to Dadi Nicolas or Ken Ekanem? I suppose it would be Dadi vs. Ellis, since Ellis played stud and Nicolas would have also played stud had he been on the team a bit earlier.
Also, where does Chuck Clark project? Free safety? Nickel? Field corner? I have no idea at this point. That makes the comparison difficult. The other thing that makes it difficult is that there are so many good players on both defenses. Do I really have to pick between Kendall Fuller and Brandon Flowers? How in the heck am I supposed to do that?
