Before we get into the Q&A part of this article, I want to address an email I got yesterday reminding me that Christian Beyer is another power forward option for Buzz Williams this coming season.  In particular, the article asked me to look at the rebounding numbers of Beyer, which is what I’ll do today.

It’s not fair to compare rebounding numbers only, because some players play more minutes than others.  However, you can compare the minutes per rebound numbers.  Not “rebounds per minute,” but “minutes per rebound,” so a lower number is better.

Here’s how Tech’s returning players who could play the power forward spot stack up in that category:

Christian Beyer: 269 minutes, 63 rebounds, 4.27 minutes per rebound
Joey van Zegeren: 682 minutes, 155 rebounds, 4.4 minutes per rebound
C.J. Barksdale: 419 minutes, 89 rebounds, 4.71 minutes per rebound

Beyer’s rebounding numbers from 2012-13 were even more impressive.  That year he grabbed 65 rebounds in 218 minutes, which comes out to 3.35 minutes per
