A new school has captivated the interest of Thomas Dale (Chester, VA) junior CJ Reavis , who for months has had Virginia Tech at the top of his list. Which school is the new favorite? The 6’1″, 195-pound safety/linebacker didn’t reveal the school’s identity in an interview with TSL this past Sunday, but the interest appears strong.
“I’m waiting on one offer. If I get it, that’s it,” Reavis said.
Boston College, Maryland, N.C. State, Virginia and Virginia Tech have offered Reavis, who also claims interest from Cincinnati, Clemson, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt. He attended the UVa/UNC game in Charlottesville this past Thursday and plans to be in Lane Stadium this Saturday to see Virginia Tech take on UVa.
“I’m looking for them to win, first and foremost,” Reavis said when asked what he wants to see from Tech this Saturday in Blacksburg. “I want to see if they can get bowl eligible.”
Reavis said the Hokies “still stand kind of high” on his list, but they have ground to gain.
“If I get that offer when I visit and I like it, it’s a done deal,” Reavis said.
In an interview back in the spring, Reavis called South Carolina his “dream school.” But again, the talented athlete did not offer any hints as to which school he is favoring right now.
On the gridiron, Reavis is considered one of the top defensive prospects in the state’s class of 2014. He played strong safety and wide receiver this year for Thomas Dale. On defense, which is the side of the ball he is being recruited to play, Reavis was pleased with his performance in 2012.
