Friday Q&A: September 14, 2012

Before we get into the Q&A, let’s take a moment to talk about what Tech’s secondary could look like in tomorrow’s game with Pitt.

Bonner Banged Up

Kyshoen Jarrett makes a tackle against Austin Peay

In case you missed it, starting free safety Detrick Bonner didn’t practice in the early part of the week, and he might not start Saturday’s game at Pitt.  If he doesn’t start, Virginia Tech will slide Kyshoen Jarrett over to free safety, and start r-freshman Michael Cole at rover.  Tech’s depth chart in the secondary would look like this:

BC: Antone Exum (r-Jr.), Donovan Riley (Fr.)
ROV: Michael Cole (r-Fr.), Greg Jones (Fr.)
FS: Kyshoen Jarrett (So.), Desmond Frye (Fr.)
FC: Kyle Fuller (Jr.), Donaldven Manning (Fr.)
