Mountain View (Stafford, VA) wide receiver/defensive back DaeSean Hamilton visited Duke, Illinois and Wake Forest in recent weeks. Still, at least publically, he has yet to narrow his list of schools.
“Pretty soon, I think I’ll come up with a solid list,” said Hamilton, one of the state’s top remaining uncommitted rising seniors. Virginia and Virginia Tech are two other schools he has visited previously.
“I’m still weighing out everything. I liked the trips and everything. I got a better feel for each of the schools on those trips. I’m still weighing out my options.”
In addition to those five schools listed above, Hamilton also received scholarship offers from the following FBS programs: Boston College, East Carolina, Miami, Michigan State, Old Dominion, Temple and West Virginia. He admits some of those programs have dropped off, but he does say both in-state ACC schools are still in the running.
“I’m still in contact with Virginia Tech and Virginia here and there,” he said. “Recently, I haven’t talked to UVa in a while, but they still send letters and e-mails. Virginia Tech is the same thing, but I talked to Coach Foster and Coach Sherman last week. We were just catching up.”
Are official visits likely?
“Right now I’m thinking about taking official visits, but I’m not too sure I want to wait that long,” Hamilton answered.
The 6’1″, 190-pound Hamilton is entering his fourth year as a starter on the varsity level. As one of his team’s elder statesmen, he is one of the leaders the younger players look up to.
“I’m not much of a vocal type person, so I lead by example. Some of the younger guys just watch what the older guys do,” Hamilton said.
