An offer from Boston College capped off a successful Evaluation Period for Mountain View (Stafford, VA) junior DaeSean Hamilton . Fourteen schools, including 11 FBS programs, have now offered Hamilton, who had seven offers when the recruiting period began in mid-April.
“I’m just taking it all in, weighing all my options,” said the 6’1″, 185-pound wide receiver/defensive back. “I still have to weigh the pros and cons of each school. I don’t get too excited about one or the other.
“All the schools are even with me. I still have to narrow things down. I need to do pros and cons and narrow the list down to those I’m most interested in.”
Hamilton did not reveal a favorite or favorites, but certainly he is most familiar with two: Virginia and Virginia Tech. He has seen each school several times, adding that he may not need to visit either school again. If he does see one, though, he said he would try and get to the other again as well.
“I think I have a good impression of UVa. They have made a good impression on my mom as well. They’ve won over my mother,” Hamilton said. “I’ve seen them many times, maybe like four or five times. I think I have a strong base of information on them.
“I’m pretty comfortable with Virginia Tech, too. I feel I’ve gotten enough info on them. I also have a good impression on them.”
Hamilton has spoken with Virginia’s Mike London and Virginia Tech’s Frank Beamer. What messages did those coaches have to the talented athlete?
“Coach London was stressing faith, family and football. He stressed building a person of character,” Hamilton said. “Coach Beamer from Tech stressed building good players and people. He said they have good football and offer good academics, too. He said...
