With their win over North Florida last night, the Hokies improved to 9-3 on
the season. From a shooting perspective, this is the best Tech team in a long
time. Jarell Eddie is proving to be the team’s X-factor, but he must improve
defensively. Marquis Rankin is showing a lot of positive things at point guard
as well. Also, we’ll be talking Tech’s final 2012 football opponent – Austin
Peay – as well as discuss one way Bud Foster might choose to try and slow down
dynamic Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson.

Shooters Aplenty

Around these parts, we aren’t really used to a team that can shoot. We are
used to teams that scrap their way to wins while not necessarily looking good
doing it. This year, it’s different. Tech is struggling to keep the ball out of
the paint on the defense end, but there’s no question that there are more guys
on this team who can make an open jumper since … when? The 80’s? Maybe.

Tech has four guys who are consistently making three-pointers.
