Virginia Tech hosted one of its few remaining targets in the 2010 class this past weekend, when 6-6, 240-pound Roanoke Rapids (N.C.) defensive end Kareem Martin made an official visit. Martin, who is also considering Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech and North Carolina, still does not appear close to announcing a decision.

Roanoke Rapids head coach Russell Weinstein expects Martin to make at least one more official visit in this process,, though no other officials appear to have been set.

“I know he has taken official visits to Georgia Tech, Duke and now Virginia Tech,” Weinstein said. “I’m thinking he will take an official to UNC. I’m not sure about Clemson at this point.”

If Martin has an ideal date for announcing a commitment, Weinstein isn’t aware of it.
