Bishop Kenny (Jacksonville, FL) tight end Neil Basford enjoyed a successful spring, tallying 13 Division 1 scholarship offers in total. Virginia Tech was the second school to officially offer the 6-5, 235-pound tight end and will host the talented rising senior on a visit next weekend.
“We’re going on the 10th, 11th and 12th to Wake Forest, South Carolina and Virginia Tech,” Basford said.

Florida could miss out, though, should it not offer soon.
“The visits I’m going to take here soon could be pretty important, too,” Basford said. “I want to see everything to have something to compare. I wouldn’t be surprised if I committed before [the visit to Florida].”
Asked for his impression of Virginia Tech at this point, Basford answered, “They’ve been real good about writing letters and stuff. They’ve been really interested. Obviously, they are a powerhouse in the ACC as well and the program has a lot of things going for them right now.”
A versatile and athletic tight end prospect, Basford reeled in 16 catches for 226 yards and five scores last season...
