Meadowbrook (Richmond, VA) star Morgan Moses has now taken three official visits, leaving two remaining official visits should he decide to use them. The 6-7, 340-pound prospect admits he is “ready to have [the recruiting process over with],” but at this point he isn’t sure when a decision could come.

“It could be later after Signing Day,” Moses said of his decision. “It just depends. Right now, I don’t even know. There are still a couple of visits I might want to take.”

Moses has taken official visits to West Virginia, North Carolina and Virginia. He indicates that, as of now, West Virginia is no longer seriously in the running. He called the January 10th North Carolina visit “great.” What did he think of the Virginia visit?

“It was similar to the other times I’d been there,” said Moses, who made the Virginia trip this past weekend. “I’ve been up there so much that I already knew the school. I got to learn more about it, so that was good. I did get a chance to hang out with Jameel Sewell some more, so that was cool. We just kind of kicked it. I had a good time with him.”

The addition of new assistant coach Latrell Scott has had a positive influence for the Cavaliers, but whether or not it has a major impact in the end remains a question.

“Me and Coach Scott have a real good connection,” Moses said. “It probably helped them a little. He is a great guy and he is from Virginia, too. I’ve known him for a while since he was my recruiter at Tennessee. Overall, he is not my position coach so I’m not sure how big of a factor he would be.”

Asked which schools remain in the race, Moses says, “Right now, there is North Carolina, Virginia, and a few others.” According to the talented prospect, Virginia Tech is one of the schools still in contention.

“They are still in the mix,” Moses said of Virginia Tech. “They are trying to get me to visit, but these next few weeks I’ll be busy with school stuff, so I’m not sure when I could visit.”

No visit will take place this weekend, as Moses will take the SAT on Saturday.

Countdown to Signing Day

This race is tough to read, though UNC might be pretty formidable. It appears both in-state programs – Virginia and Virginia Tech – remain in contention, though at this point Virginia seems to be the favorite
