The 2007 football season was a great one for Virginia Tech, producing 11 wins
and an ACC championship. We sat down at TSL to come up with the top ten plays of
the season, and we had a number of deserving nominees that didn’t make the cut.
The ones that did make it are certainly worth a second look … and a third look
… and a fourth.

For our list, Chris Coleman nominated 25 plays and then picked his own top
ten. Will Stewart took CC’s nominees, added any he thought were worthy, and
picked his own top ten.

Between the two lists, 14 plays are represented. 11 didn’t make it to either

We’ll present each writer’s list, plus their explanation, then compare lists
at the end.

Nominated, But Didn’t Make the Cut

First, here’s the list of plays that didn’t make the cut for Chris or Will.
Leaving out some of these plays, like D.J. Parker’s pick against Clemson, or
Xavier Adibi’s interception in the ACC Championship Game, was painful. But the
list is only ten plays, so some plays had to be left out.

  • Macho’s INT return vs. ECU
  • Glennon to Wheeler vs. ECU
  • Parker’s INT return vs. Clemson
  • Macho’s Kick return vs. Clemson
  • Tyrod to Harper vs. Clemson
  • Parker’s 6:01 pick vs. BC in Lane Stadium
  • Glennon to Harper vs. GT
  • Macho’s diving INT vs. GT
  • Justin Harper’s punt return vs. UVA
  • Flowers’ interception of Sewell vs. UVA
  • Adibi INT return to clinch ACCCG vs. BC

Chris Coleman’s Picks

10.) Glennon to Morgan 40 yard TD vs. Duke
