This will be the final week of high school for Josh Oglesby, who plans to be a Virginia Tech student athlete next month. Despite rumors that he may give UNC, his childhood favorite, a closer look, the 5-11, 205-pound Garner (N.C.) running back appears content with his decision and looks forward to being a Hokie.
“It was nice to hear from UNC-Chapel Hill since they were my previous favorite team, but I’ve been working with Virginia Tech for a while. And, for me to switch, I’d be sitting out a semester and it would be a waste,” said Oglesby, who has been receiving increased interest lately from UNC and new head coach Butch Davis.
“I am 100-percent done. I would say it’s completely over with. To switch now would be a waste. And Virginia Tech is a school I’m happy with.”
Oglesby talked about his commitment to Virginia Tech and why he chose the Hokies over his previous childhood favorite.
